The Rogaland Anorthosite Province comprises three major massif-type anortho- sites, two smaller-sized anorthositic-leuconoritic bodies, as well as a large layered, dominantly noritic intrusion. A Mangero-noritic intrusion is found in the northeastern part of the province and major acidic intrusions are located to the far southeast. The Rogaland Anorthosite Province was emplaced into the Sweconorwegian orogenic belt of southwest Scandinavia at 931+-3 Ma.

The Fongen-Hyllingen complex, situated 60 km southeast of Trondheim, Norway, comprises the 160 km2 Fongen-Hyllingen layered mafic intrusion (FH1) and the slightly younger, minor (3 km2) mafic to ultramafic Treknattan intrusion. The FH1 was emplaced synorogenically in the Scandinavian Caledonides -435 Ma ago. Folding and subsequent uplift and erosion allow access to the floor, walls and roof of the magma chamber.

Forkortet: The Varanger Peninsula is underlain by weakly metamorphosed sedimentary rocks of Late Proterozoic to Early Cambrian age. The rocks occur in two regions: the Tanafjorden-Varangerfjorden Region (TVR) (southwestern half of the penin- sula) and the Barents Sea Region (BSR) (northeastern half), juxtaposed along a complex NW-SE-trending fault zone, The Trollfjorden-Komagelva Fault Zone (TKFZ).

IGCP project 371 COPENA (Structure and Correlation of the Precambrium in NE Europe and the North Atlantic Realm) is a major current research and corre- elation venture in the North Atlantic Region and the European Precambrian craton. In 1997 the annual meeting of COPENA was arranged at the Geological Survey of Norway in Trondheim, Norway. The meeting focussed on recent advances in understanding the evolution the Proterozoic orogenic belt.
An interpretation of the aeromagnetic data acquired by NGU, Geco and Amarok from the Norwegian Sea between 66°N and 69°50'N is reported The LAS-89 survey has revealed several new structures not discernible in the old NGU data sets. This is due to the use of more sensitive magnetometers, closer line spacing and more accurative navigation. Most of the magnetic anomalies within the survey may be interpreted in terms of a fault-related basement relief.
Acquisition of Magnetotelluric (MT) data at Masi is a joint venture project between NGU and Westfälische Wilhelms Universitat Münster in Germany. The data was collected in 2015. The main objective is to understand the regional geology in the area and especially the settings of the postglacial Stuoragurra Fault. The project area has been extensively studied and a considerable amount of information about the geology is available.
