Summary
The report combines colour photographs with existing notes on some fragmented ophiolite sequences in Norway. The notes are from the 1981 Uppsala Caledonian Symposium excursion guide to Trøndelag, and from theses on Lyngen by Munday (1970) and Minsaas (1981). The photographs show features of the metamorphic peridotite zone, the layered ultramafic and mafic zone, non-layered gabbro, the transitional part of the sheeted dyke zone, felsic intrusives, the pillow basalt zone and associated pyritic mineralization, and the unconformably overlying sediments deposited after subduction.
