Proceedings of the International Symposium 'Geological mapping in the service of environmental planning' held in Trondheim, Norway, 6-9 May 1986.
Rapporten omhandler bl.a. kobberkis- sinkblende-blyglansmieral- isering i skiferen og pentlanditt- kobberkisførende magnetkis mineralisering tilknyttet instrusjonen.
Forkortet: The Varanger Peninsula is underlain by weakly metamorphosed sedimentary rocks of Late Proterozoic to Early Cambrian age. The rocks occur in two regions: the Tanafjorden-Varangerfjorden Region (TVR) (southwestern half of the penin- sula) and the Barents Sea Region (BSR) (northeastern half), juxtaposed along a complex NW-SE-trending fault zone, The Trollfjorden-Komagelva Fault Zone (TKFZ).
The Skagerrak Project is the first major task of the MGK-programme (MGK is the Norwegian acronomy for Marine geological mapping of Norwegian sea-floor areas) which is a joint effort of six governmental institutions involved in various aspects of marine work.
Movement of the Earth's plates through geological time can be described in therms of a series of rotations on the sphere (Earth). If we can determine what these rotations have been, we can rotate ancient geological features on the Earth's plates back to their former positions to produce paleogeographic maps. We present an open source computer program that performs such rotations on the sphere.

As part of the prospecting activities of the oil company PERTRA at "The Frøya High", the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) was asked to provide resistivity values of the underlying basement rocks. PL321 is considering to use Sea Bed EM Resistivity Logging to evaluate the hydrocarbon possibilities in the area. At the Frøya Høgda, Upper Jurassic reservoir sandstone is lying directly upon Frie emneord: Laboratorieforsøk ; Brønnlogging : Resistivitet ; PL 321
Forkortet: The permian Oslo Field contains a large number of interestin magnetic anomalies associated with magmatic rock bodies (lavas, dikes, calderas, and plutons). The area is characterized by large-scale circular to elliptical anomalies related to calderas and plutons, and by linear magnetic anomalies of various trends.
(Forkortet) The geology of the Lofoten region has been described with the aim of assessing whether or not the area would qualify as a candidate for the World Heritage List based on its natural properties. The Lofoten archipelago consists mainly of Palaeoproterozoic rocks, including paragneisses and younger plutons (ca 1800 Ma) of the anorthosite-mangerite-charnokite-granite (AMCG) suite.
The degree of saturation of groundwater with respect to a wide range of solid phases is calculated for 240 private and public bedrock wells in Akershus and Østfold counties, southeastern Norway. The samples were collected by the local Næringsmiddeltilsynene (Public Hygiene Control Office) in cooperation with the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU).
The Geological Survey of Norway has developed a system for mobile gamma ray spectrometer surveying suitable for use in nuclear emergencies where potentially dangerous radioactive materials have been released into the environment. The measuring system has been designet for use with different kinds of transportation platform. These include fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and vans/cars. The choice of transportation platform depends on the nature of the nuclear emergency.
Rana-distriktet har fra gammelt av vært kjent som et geologisk meget interessant område med mineralske ressurser av mange slag. Bergverksdriften har lange tradisjoner her og har gitt levebrød til mange opp igjennom tidene.
