Technical report for cruise 0206 - sampling for environmental geochemistry and sediment instability in fjrods of Western Norway
A sampling cruise with NGU's research vessel "Seisma" to selected fjords inMøre and Romsdal and Sogn og Fjordane, western Norway was undertaken inJune-July, 2002. The objective of this crusie was to obtain sample material tostudy the fate of heavy metals and to gain understanding of their transportmechanisms, carrier phases, bioavailability, budgeting and provenances. Fjordsoccurring both in areas with relatively high and low natural heavy-metalbackground were sampled.
This report contains the scientific program and abstract volume for the lectures and posters presented during the Alice Wain Memorial West Norway Eclogite Field Symposium. The lecture and field symposium, held in Selje from June 21st-28th, 2003, focuese on the dynamic processes of high- and ultrahigh- pressure metamorphism and exhumation of eclogites and associated rock tupes. The Symposum commemorates the outstanding to contributions to west Norway eclogite research by the late Dr.
Tectono-stratigraphic Setting, Structure and Petrology of HP and UHP Memtamorphic Rocks and garnet Peridotites in the Western Gneiss region, Møre and Romsdal, Norway
This report is a guidebook for a five day excursion in connection with the Alice Wain Memorial West Norway Eclogite Field Symposium held in Selje from June 21st-28th, 2003. The Western Gneiss Region provides some of the largest, most comprehensive, and accessible exposures of eclogites and eclogite-facies rocks and garnet peridotites in the world.
This report is a guidebook for the field excursions conducted during the Alice Wain Memorial West Norway Eclogite Field Symposium held in Selje from June 21st-28th, 2003. Eskola (1921) drew attention to some of the aesthetically impressive eclogites and garnet peridotites that outcrop in the coastal region of west Norway between Bergen and Trondheim.
