North Sea and Norwegian Sea
NGU has launched an aeromagnetic remapping programme of the Norwegian Sea and the North Sea with funding from the petroleum industry and governmental institutions.
A joint interpretation that combines seismic, potential field and heat flow data produces a synergy that significantly improves the geological and structural interpretation of the shelf. NGU is also carrying out a new geophysical research project investigating the present-day and palaeo stress and strain fields in the onshore and offshore Nordland area.
