GEOPHYSICAL INTERPRETATIONS

The need for new high-quality data is vital for mining and hydrocarbon exploration.

Improvement in the resolution of aeromagnetic and gravity surveys means that they can easily be used for detection and detailed mapping of faults, fracture systems, magmatic intrusions, salt structures and other sedimentary sequences.

In addition, potential field data help to better define offshore basement depth, age, structure and lithology. The NGU geophysics team is backed by sophisticated and totally integrated in-house and commercial software for image processing of geophysical data, map production, 2D/3D modelling, integrated GIS and seismic interpretation.  Including heat production data into crustal models enable us to estimate the temperature in the onshore and offshore subsurface.
