Solid Earth Geology
Our section maps the onshore and offshore bedrock of Norway. We combine field observations with analyses and models with the aim of understanding how Norway was formed. Our data are freely available in the form of maps and databases.
We use a range of methods such as structural geology, geochronology, geochemistry, petrology, seismic interpretation and numerical techniques to provide a thorough characterisation of Norway's bedrock. Our work contributes to an improved understanding of the geological processes that shape the land.
