Geomatics and IT
In collaboration with NGU's geologists, the geomatics section develops geodatabases and 'user-friendly' map services. Map services are adapted and targeted to priority groups using the virtual platform called Norway Digital. The starting point is that each party participating in the Norway Digital consortium should make its spatial data available to the other parties, allowing the general public, to create and operate their own geodata services. The services should be digital, add value, and contribute to streamlining the management of the land, natural resources, and business.
Information Technology is a critical factor that contributes to the success of NGU. Our well-functioning IT system allows us to perform our tasks efficiently and communicate our work, effectively. We operates all central IT systems at NGU.
