Geohazard and Earth Observation
The team for Geohazard and Earth Observation is working with landslide processes as a challenge to society by mapping of unfavorable geological conditions that can lead to landslides in a broad geological framework, a work mainly financed by NVE. The team is an international expert team that is formed by researchers from eight countries coming from three continents. The team members have several years to decades of experience in various field of earth sciences including quaternary geology, structural geology, remote sensing, mathematical geology, geotechniques, sedimentology, and social sciences. In addition, the team members participate continuously in research projects. Every year multiple students work as summer students as part of the team supporting field and office work and multiple students are supervised in there Master, and PhD projects in Norway and around the world by team members. The team has a steady and high production of scientific contributions in scientific journals, scientific books and is actively involved in organizing of - and participating on international conferences.
