Summary
GDEPTH is a gravity inversion program that estimates the basement topography or a density surface at a given depth and a given density contrast across the surface. The IBM-PC compatible program is most applicable to determine the depth of sedimentary basins when the desity contrast with underlying basement-rocks is significant. When combined with magnetic inversion (Torsvik & Olesen 1992) the program provides an important and cost-fast tool in early basin modelling.
