The mapping service for geological heritage displays registered geological sites that may be of interest to tourists, school students, and natural resource managers. Some of the material is from older sources, and there are professional gaps in the dataset. We welcome suggestions for corrections and new areas that should be included

The map layers in this mapping service are various selections of soil types from the NGU’s sediment database. At the largest scales, the highest quality data have been selected based on professional assessment, from 1:20,000, 1:50,000, or 1:250,000, and compiled into a seamless map for the entire country. Some analog maps are currently being digitized and will be continuously added to the database. See the mapping service 'Map Catalog' for analog/printed maps. Choose 'Switch Map Service' in the top menu. The loose sediment map view shows a simplified classification, as the soil type theme according to SOSI standard version 4.0 consists of 78 classes. Several map views have been prepared to show more detail in the classification, divided by relevant themes. See the dropdown menu at the top right of the mapping service

NGU’s deliveries for DOK datasets are made available as an Atom Feed. This means that you, as a user, can subscribe (RSS Subscription) to receive updates on which datasets are available in this format. Each entry in the general Atom Feed points to a new Atom Feed, which includes entries for files produced for the individual datasets. NGU produces multiple selectable file formats, projections, and administrative divisions.

The service displays calcium content in bedrock through the distribution of different rock types along the ecological gradient of calcium content (KA), as well as ultramafic rocks, which are highly iron-magnesium-rich rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust or mantle. Data are derived from harmonized bedrock at 1:250,000 scale (N250)

This map service shows nationally susceptibility map for radon. The service provides an initial assessment of susceptibility for radon, and can be used as an aid for municipalities to assess the need for new measurements in homes and in planning processes. Resolution of the data is lower than scale 1 : 50,000. The map shows the probability that it can be or will be a radon problem, and therefore  interesting information for managing follow-up surveys and the development of guidelines for new housing construction.

The data is organized into study areas, giving overview information. A study area contains one or more measurement points, which in turn is (1) a borehole or (2) miniloggers measuring near-surface temperature outside boreholes. Temperature data in boreholes may be temperature series with time (monitoring) or temperature with depth (logs). Near-surface temperature data is temperature series with time only. The database may also hold photographs of study areas (overview) or measurement points (detail).

The service shows airborne geophysics, ground geophysics, borehole logging, petrophysics and gravimetric. For ground geophysics and boreholes shows cartography for geophysical methods. For airborne geophysics shows cartography for fixed wing and helicopter.
