The mineral apatite build bones and teeth of humans and animals.

It is the element phosphorus (P), that is the key. Phosphorus is found in several minerals, including apatite.  All forms of life need phosphorus. Phosphorus is an important nutrient for plants, hence it is used to make fertilizers. It is also used in the manufacturing industry; for example, in steel production and plasma display screens. The name apatite derives of the Greek word apate, meaning 'deceit '. As a matter of fact, this mineral comes in many disguises.
