To be able to understand the effects of the Fennoscandian ice sheet in greater detail, it is essential to have accurate reconstructions of the areal extent and of the ice-sheet geometry. In this project we focus on the glacier lateral extent and timing reconstructed from morphologic and stratigraphic evidence. To do this, it is necessary to study palaeoclimatic indicators, the sedimentary environment and the timing represented in stratigraphies along profiles from inland to coast in the mainland of Norway. With the results from this project we hope to be able to do a comprehensive regional geographic north-south comparison in glacial variation within Norway during the LGM interval.
