The ESF, through the GEODE programme does not provide funding for the research projects themselves, but provides a forum for researchers to be involved in discussion and exchange of information. GEODE provides grants for visits so that scientists involved can communicate with each other. GEODE can also provide financing (or part-financing) for workshops, conferences, etc.
