The geological Survey of Norway is collaborating with the AIRIE Program at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, USA, and SINTEF Petroleum Research, Trondheim, to carry out this project.

The project is named Rhenium-Osmium Isotopic Tracing of Hydrocarbon Systems in Arctic Regions: a Norway-USA Collaboration Implementing New Technologies for Exploration.
The five-year project started in 2007. It is sponsored by the Petromaks programme of the Research Council of Norway, Eni Norge AS, StatoilHydro ASA, and the Geological Survey of Norway. The project employs two full-time post-doctoral research associates and four part-time researchers.
