Competences

Bernard Bingen is geologist with a background in petrology, geochemistry and isotope geochemistry of metamorphic rocks. He developed his research in geochronology of high-temperature orogenic processes using the uranium-lead (U-Pb) isotopic system. This research is applied to solve problems of regional geology in the Sveconorwegian belt of Scandinavia, the Scandinavian Caledonides, and the Mozambique belt in Mozambique.

Hannah, of the project "Re-Os Isotopic Tracing of Hydrocarbon Systems in Arctic Regions: Norway-USA Collaboration Implementing New Technologies for Exploration", funded by Norges forskningsrådet, Statoil ASA and Eni Norge AS, under the ‘Petromaks program’.

2002-2006: Responsible for the geochronology program in the mapping and mineral resource assessment project conducted by the Geological Survey of Norway in NE Mozambique. The projects covers 31 1:250000 map sheets.

2001-2006: Collaborator with Ø. Skår in developing zircon/monazite U-Pb geochronology at the Geological Survey of Norway, using LA-ICP-MS.
