The Geological Survey of Norway (NGU), is the national institution for knowledge on bedrock, mineral resources, surficial deposits and groundwater. NGU's tasks are to collect, process and distribute knowledge of the physical, chemical and mineralogical properties of the bedrock, surficial deposits and groundwater of Norway. The NGU staff of 225 includes representatives of 25 nationalities 65% of which are scientists.

    Stillingen er knyttet til Laboratorielaget (NGU-Lab). NGU-Lab leverer laboratorietjenester til NGU og eksterne kunder, og har vært akkreditert for kjemisk og sedimentologisk analyse av vann og geologiske materialer siden 1994.
