Project Leader: Jörg Ebbing
NGU together with TNO (Utrecht) and the German Geodetic Research Institute (DGFI, Munich) will make an impact assessment for the European Space Agency (ESA) on the use of GOCE satellite data for geophysical applications. The GOCE (Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer; http://www.esa.int/SPECIALS/GOCE/index.html) satellite mission is to determine the Earth’s stationary gravity field with unprecedented accuracy and resolution. GOCE measures the gradients of Earth's gravity field, which provide a higher accuracy in between the wavelength of terrestrial and former satellite mission. The data will be evaluated by NGU to the gravity response of well-established in-house models of the NE Atlantic
The project is scheduled from the 2011 to 2013
