Seisma

NGU's 17 m (55 feet) long research vessel FF Seisma is well suited for seabed mapping of Norwegian fjords and coastal areas.

Dybdemodell fra indre Oslofjord. Dybdedataene er innsamlet ved hjelp av NGUs interferometriske sonar.Depth model from the inner Oslofjord. The depth data are collected by NGU's interferometric sonar.

Seismic data are collected using airgun/sleevegun, Geopulse boomer and Topas. Detailed bathymetry and sonar data can be collected down to 200 m water depth by Geoswath interferometric sonar. Sampling of seabed sediments is carried out by grab, box corer, gravity corer and multicorer, and an underwater camera can be used for video filming of the seabed.

Marine geological data from Norwegian coastal and offshore areas are stored in NGU's Marine Geology database and presented on www.mareano.no.
