Mitt spesialfelt er innen modellering av utvikling og prosesser på kontinentalmarginer ved hjelp av seismisk stratigrafi, gravitasjonsmåling, og andre geofysiske data. Jeg arbeider også med kartlegging av gasshydrater ved hjelp av seismiske attributt-analyser som AVO og HVA, og modellering av petrofysikk for kvantifisering av gasshydrater ved ulike metoder. Jeg har utviklet metoder for bølgeforminversjon av OBS-data (Ocean Bottom Seismic) for detaljert hastighetsmodellering. Jeg har vært tilknyttet Indias nasjonale gasshydrat-program (NGHP) ved National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) og senere EU-prosjektet HYDRATECH ved National Oceanography Centre i Southampton (NOC). Jeg har også arbeidet med modellering av kontinentalmarginen og sedimentdynamikk i India. Ved NGU er jeg prosjektleder for NFR/SEABED-prosjektet GANS (Gas Hydrages on the Norway-Barents-Sea-Svalbard margin), men arbeider også innen Mareano og andre prosjekter.

I am specialized in modelling the evolution and processes along the continental margins with the help of seismic stratigraphy, gravity and other geological data. I am also involved in the mapping of gas hydrates using seismic attribute analyses such as AVO, HVA, and also in the modelling of petrophysical parameters for gas hydrate quantification using various methods. I have used waveform inversion methods on OBS (Ocean Bottom Seismic) data for detailed velocity analysis. I worked as part of India's National Gas Hydrate Program (NGHP) with the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) and recently in the EU project HYDRATECH with the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in Southampton. I have also worked on modelling of continental margin sediment dynamics offshore India. I am now engaged as project leader for the NFR/SEABED project GANS (Gas Hydrates on the Norwegain Barents Sea Svalbard margin) with the interpretation of regional stratigraphy along the mid Norwegian margin with special focus on the Nyegga and the Vigrid areas and also on studies related to gas hydrates in the Norwegian offshore. I also work in the Mareano project dealing with gas and gas hydrate related mapping.
