CV

Senior researcher and team leader of the group "Bedrock and crustal processes".

Ane Engvik has a fundamental competence in metamorphic petrology, mineralogy and structural geology. She is conducting process oriented research around the theme of fluid-rock interaction in the deep and middle crust (granulite, amphibolite and eclogite facies rocks) and is applying metamorphic petrology to support regional geological investigations. Case studies are elaborated from field observations in the Caledonian and Sveconorwegian belts of Norway and in the Pan-African belt of Antarctica and Mozambique.

Research interest:

- Fluid-rock interaction and metasomatic processes in continental crust
- High pressure metamorphism and deep crustal fabrics
- Regional geological investigations in Norway
- Evolution of the East African Antarctic orogen
