Multi-Element Analysis

The elements highlighted in the following Periodic Table were analysed for in either one, several or all of the sampled media. Analytical methods used include: inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES), inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and various others. For some samples, different size fractions and/or digestion strengths (leachates) were analysed separately. Selected radioisotopes were also determined in lichen and topsoil. Details of analytical methods can be found in the reports by Chekushin et al. (1993) and Reimann (1995), for instance, which are itemised in the publication list.
